Purpose of Campaign: This campaign is based on a fairly wide range audience. It is promoting the product 'WILD' Which is a comic book themed movie. With reference to nature discovery documentary and previous comic movie themes. For example, The Animal Planet, Sin City, 300, and Spider man. 'WILD' is based on the soundtrack 'Lions Vs. Hyenas' using fragments of the narrator's speech to describe the basic, everyday battle life that this creature/beast/human/animal being lives in at a day-to-day atmosphere. The movie is footage loosely used in an Wilderness/intense survival situation like area with 90% video footage and 10% 2D animation content. A contrast of the campaign is deciphering reality from fiction. And deciding which side of the story or promotion is to be taken seriously or in a humorous/illegitimate manner. The campaign is simply to arise awareness, social knowledge and word-of-mouth discussion about the upcoming film. With brochures, trailers and unexplained, uncomplicated logos and snap shots.

The product is unique in various forms. It relies on imagery that differs between fiction and reality. And is not based so much on a previous comic book so much as constructed to involve a new, 'unreleased' one. The characters aren't heroes or villains. Just people. Powerful creatures who vary in morals, mortality and strengths. Unprepared. It lures movie watchers and comic readers, avid artists and curious personalities. -A large range of audience to decipher an atmosphere moderately uncomfortable, uneasy and unknown. Like real life. Unscripted, brutal and confused.

Brochures and the like are all based on either a family-orientated safari trip, or comic teasers hand drawn with water colours and pens, and then professionally printed. The trailer will be based around everyday antics of the main character, the approach of a friendly 'Safari-going' group, and then an attack of beasts and wild survival. The idea is vaguely taken from the 'Jungle Book'.

/Nothing Terribly similar located.

Campaign objectives: What I hope to achieve in this promotion is the obvious outcomes to the installed brief. A trailer. A basic website with information and details. Properly printed pieces of work with proper design and drawings contributed to the final product. And a packaged piece/if only a DVD case to display at the final Safari themed stall. Where people may sign up to hear more information, or gather more details about the campaign/generally have an interest in the work and idea displayed. An interest, that would cause word-of-mouth retaliation, to get the idea off the ground or at least cause a little stirr to get new, future ideas or inspiration flowing.

The Target Market/Customers/Fans/Allies: The market is based towards a majority of English speaking characters. Young, old. Video/realistic footage fans or those interested in animation/and/or the language of comics. From those who speak fluently, to those who are just mildly curious. Those who find the campaign entertaining, take it seriously, or just generally have some curiosity int he making of the procedure of the promotion. The artists, the movie junkie. The characters, story line, campaign, display and merchandise etc is meant to appeal to many. And combine them in a formed group of admirers. Not separate fans with different attitudes towards the story line or footage. Anyone who responds to the idea, film, drawings or any of the 'WILD' lingo is welcome to take part. Whether they dislike, or admire the project.

Competition:

Other comic creators/comic critics/comic heroes/VILLIANS.

The main proposition:

The proposition: 'WILD' is a movie. Based on a 'real life'/comic character drawn from inspired footage from documentries, real life safaries, African and Wild Life Photographs, The Animal Kingdom, and the epic drawings of Stan Lee, Marvel Comics, Dark Horse, and DC comics. Also taking notes and ideas from Comic-based movies such as 300, Spiderman, The Hulk, Gohst Rider, Batman..

The deliverables: A collection of real comic pieces, character information, sketches, bios, footage, aniamtion, merchandise, logos and comic/real life related themes. How to draw sessions... etc...

Features: A movie. Able to purchuse, order, enjoy or watch at any avaliable moment... as soon as it's released. With real comics and merchandise to indure, accept and make note of to follow.

Benefits: Different kind of movie for a different kind of human.

Unique Selling Point: It's just better Wild.

4 Design

Your ideas: Comic. Aniamtion. Real Life Footage. Safari. These questions are repeating in different forms of stupidity. I could be at the beach. Or actually getting paid for doing work somewhere else.

Design Preferences: Edgy/sketchy/urban/grunge. Wild streets mixed with wild animals. And not necessarily in-human.

4. Style Sheets: create a minimum of 4 style sheets and link or upload them to your blog. The style sheet is a montage of reference images that you have gathered. Each sheet should have some kind of cohesive theme; examples are font and typography, color palettes, imagery and subject matter, etc.

Research/Promotion: The Best Page in the Universe

http://maddox.xmission.com/

The Best Page in the Universe is a personal satirical humor website created by George Ouzounian, better known as Maddox, from Salt Lake City, Utah.
Maddox said that he decided to name it "The Best Page in the Universe" despite his knowledge that
Yahoo! blocked sites with the words "the best" in the title from inclusion in their search engine.
As of
February 11, 2008, Xmission.com, which contains the home page and related pages for The Best Page in the Universe, had an Alexa rank of 9,300 and has had more than 211 million visits. TheBestPageInTheUniverse.net, which hosts all of the articles written by Maddox, had an Alexa rank of 14,224 on the same date.

Maddox started The Best Page in the Universe in
1997. Maddox said that the website originated from a text document that he wrote listing 50 things that "pissed him off." He gave the list to several people on EFnet's #coders. According to Maddox, the positive response led him to create the website.

Maddox states on his site the layout is minimalistic primarily in order to save on bandwidth costs and to protest the theme of many contemporary websites: too many images, small fonts, not enough content. Maddox uses large text in light colors on a black background; he explains that reading black text on a white background is like "staring at a lightbulb," and that light text on a black background is less harsh on one's eyes .
The page is headed with an image of Maddox's face superimposed over a bust of
Che Guevara. In the image, he is wearing an eye patch and donning a beret emblazoned with the Jolly Roger. Maddox uses this image as a parody of the revolutionary icon, and does not proclaim to be either a socialist or communist, saying that Che Guevara is remembered as "Che the revolutionary," not "Che the pinko." Instead, he often proclaims himself to be a pirate, and typically portrays himself as such in his articles and artwork.

Maddox also has an online store which sells merchandise such as stickers, hooded sweatshirts, and t-shirts with controversial messages such as "For every animal you don't eat, I'm going to eat three" and "Littering kicks ass."
Maddox deliberately keeps his site free of advertisements. He does not specifically ask for donations from his readers and does not refuse donations. One time, he asked for donations in the form of store purchases for the
Hurricane Katrina disaster, and collected over $3000 in donations. "The reason this site doesn't have advertisements on it is because I want to say whatever I want to without having to worry about offending advertisers," wrote Maddox in an article regarding plagiarism of his material.

Mothers Against Maddox
Beth Robbins, a "concerned mother", formed
Mothers Against Maddox. Her slogan was, "Help Us Fight and Finally Shut Down the Most Hateful Site on the Internet." She also created a petition to get the site shut down. When Maddox wrote about it in the Websense article including a link to the original GeoCities site, Mothers Against Maddox was inundated with visitors and repeatedly exceeded its bandwidth limit. In response, Maddox hosted a mirror so all his fans could view it, without clogging up her site's bandwidth. After Maddox posted the petition link, the MAM petition shot up to the Top 10 Active Petitions on PetitionOnline, with Maddox fans flooding the petition and posting extremely vulgar comments. Maddox claimed to have signed the petition himself, as "nobody gives a shit." The petition was eventually deactivated.[citation needed] However, critics have argued that Maddox himself created MaM as a publicity stunt. They claim the writing style, HTML markup, and images are uncannily similar to Maddox's own Web site.

Maddox states that he received emails with similar viewpoints as expressed by MaM. Such messages often contain sentences expressing a dislike for his viewpoints and/or that his site is a bad influence on their children. Maddox responded by saying that if his site offends people, they should not read it and "it's not my job to be your children's guardian."
On October 27, 2007 CNN ran a story about
Mothers Against Drunk Driving asking another organization, Mothers Against Illegal Aliens, to cease using "Mothers Against" in the name of their organization. CNN went on to cite various other organizations that use "Mothers Against" in their name with Mothers Against Maddox being one of its examples.
